Poem 52- THE STORY OF JONAH AND THE SAVING OF NINEVEH FROM THE FURY OF CHRIST JESUS

T– There was once a prophet, Jonah by the name, oh he is a Hebrew, Amittai- his father’s name.

H– He was told by Jesus, he was told by Christ, to preach repentance to the Ninevites, or else they will all die.

E– Ey, Jonah was froward, headstrong/stubborn and all that, he is too unruly, disobedient, you will see.

***

S– So, he left for Tarshish, via Joppa he went forth, there he took a ship ride, and headed away from Christ.

T– The ship incurred much trouble, sea waters were enraged, they have been tempestuous, really boisterous.

O– Oh, the sailors were frightened, oh, they were scared, they have thought of sinking, while Jonah slept and dreamed.

R– Regarding loaded cargos, regarding loaded wares, the seafarers have thrown them, to the waters turbulent.

Y– Yes, they all have panicked, since the stormy sea didn’t abate, the seamen all prayed to their gods, while Jonah had to sleep a lot.

***

O– Oh, the ship captain found Jonah, sleeping tranquil and serene, the ship where they ride will almost break up, but Jonah is reposeful in nap.

F– Finally, the captain, had awakened fleeing Jonah from sleep, he said thou sleeper you must pray now, if haply your God will hear now.

***

J– Jonah joined the sailors, when they drew lots to know, the culprit why the sea rage, and in a great uproar.

O– Oh, Jonah was chosen, the lot fell on his lap, the seamen found him guilty, for he told his story.

N– Nineveh should have been, his assignment from the LORD, but he made an about face, and to Tarshish he headed forth.

A– Ah, he told the sailors, I have disobeyed the LORD, the God of heaven and the Maker, of the sea and the dry land.

H– He fled forth from Jesus, he fled forth from Christ, Yeshuwah– his Salvation, Prosperity and Help/Health.

***

A– Ah, the sea waves roared much, the seafarers were alarmed, they had to ask Prophet Jonah, how the raging sea can be calmed.

N– Now Jonah had told them, I am the cause of this, you have to throw me overboard, that the LORD may remove the storm.

D– Despite Jonah’s disclosure, in spite of Jonah’s claim, the seamen rowed and rowed much, to bring the ship to the land.

***

T– Thus, they were discouraged, thus, they were distressed, the roaring sea have raged much, the tempest did not stop.

H– Heavily the storm flowed, the sea waters were tossed, the sailors failed to reach land, they were threatened so much.

E– Ey, they prayed to Yahweh, to Jehovah– no one else, the One who made the universe, Yeshuwah– the LORD who saves.

***

S– So, they said in prayer, oh LORD we beg of Thee, allow us not to die for this man, neither make us guilty, if he dies in the sea.

A– Ah, they then threw Jonah overboard, that it may please the LORD, to their surprise the raging sea, became as calm as can be.

V– Verily, oh verily, the sailors/seamen feared the LORD, exceedingly, excessively, Christ Jesus has been good.

I– Iesous, none but Jesus, created what we have, the sea and all its creatures, even those enormous in features.

N– Now Christ prepared for Jonah, a big fish in the site, where he had been thrown overboard, to swallow Jonah alive.

G– Given three days and three nights, in the bowels/intestines of the whale, Jonah finally surfaced, at about the mouth of the same.

***

O– Oh, Jonah repented, oh, Jonah have prayed, oh, Jonah asked for help, from the Yahweh who so saves.

F– Finally Yeshuwah, Yahweh Shua if stressed/stretched, Iesous and/or Jesus, hearkened to Jonah’s prayer.

***

N– Nigh/Near is Yahweh Shammah, to all who call on Him, thus He spoke to the big fish, spew Jonah- My kid.

IImmanuel is Christ Jesus, the God with us– that’s right, the whale He commanded to vomit, Prophet Jonah on dry land.

N– Now Jonah the Prophet, was commissioned again by the LORD, to go to the city of Nineveh, that the people thereof may be warned.

E– Ey, he followed Jesus, ey, he yielded to Christ, he went to the city of Nineveh, 3 days journey- it’s that big.

V– Verily on day one, he began entering the place, he said to the people of Nineveh, after forty days this city will God destroy.

E– Ey, the people fasted, ey, the people prayed, everyone put on sackcloth, on ashes the king have stayed.

H– Hey, the king have published, hey, the king proclaimed, no one will be eating, no one will be drinking.

***

F– Flocks and herds included, animals therein, no food and no water, will be given for meals.

R– Repentance- they have done that, remorse- from all their sins, everyone turned from his evil way, and stopped violence wrought by wicked hands.

O– Oh, Jesus repented, from destroying Nineveh, He turned away from His fury, didn’t annihilate the people, beasts and the city.

M– Much people were delivered, much people were saved, more than one hundred twenty thousand all in all, and much  cattle too were spared.

***

T– The Lord Jesus is gracious, the Lord is merciful, He is slow to anger, and His kindness is so great.

H– He will be forgiving, to those who will repent, but those who will refuse Him, will still retain their sins.

E– Ey, they will be punished, ey, they’ll be chastised, Christ Jesus will abhor them, wipe out their lives from existence.

***

F– Furious had been Jesus, to the people called Ninevites, prior to Jonah’s pronouncement, of the upcoming judgment of Christ.

U– Uh, Christ Jesus found fault, in wicked thoughts and works, Nineveh could have been no more, had the people there defied still the Lord.

R– Repentance- they have done that, remorse- from all their sins, everyone turned from his evil way, and stopped violence wrought by wicked hands.

Y– Yes, there’s Hope in Jesus, yes, there’s Hope in Christ, a change of mind is needed, and we must be conformed to Christ.

***

O– Oh, Jonah got angry, when Jesus changed His mind, when Jesus spared the Ninevites, for they’ve repented much!

F– For Jonah it had been more acceptable, had the Lord Jesus destroyed the people, had the Lord Jesus destroyed the city, had the Lord Jesus destroyed them all.

***

C– Came out of the city, Jonah sat nearby, so he made a booth there, to give him shadow and delight.

H– He observed the city, what will so transpire, will Christ Jesus overthrow, Jonah wants overthrown?

R– Right after that very day, that night Christ made to grow, a gourd to provide Jonah some shadow, come the following sunny day.

I– In the said day that followed, Jonah was pleased a lot, for though the sunrays were really hot, the gourd’s shadow protected him lots.

S– So, another day have ended, another night time came, another morning followed, Christ prepared a worm to kill the gourd.

T– The gourd have died and withered, the sun have shown its rays, Jonah have felt the sun’s heat, no more shadow prevented it.

***

J– Jonah felt so miserable, how come the gourd have died, had it continued living, the sun’s heat he would beat.

E– Ey, Christ Jesus asked him, doest thou well Jonah, to be angry to the Ninevites, to be angry for the gourd?

S– Since the Ninevites repented, since they have all changed, will you still desire it, to have them all get killed?

U– Uh, you got so angry, when the gourd you didn’t plant have just died, for which you bestowed no labor, and which you have not made to grow!

S– Shall I not rather pity, the city of Nineveh, I have them all created, far more precious than the gourd I have made.

(Jeremiah 17:7; Psalm 31:24; 1 Timothy 1:1)

Making your prayers-petitions-requests-supplications to Jesus

A short account of Jabez’ prayer (1 Chronicles 4:9-10);

Jabez was a simple Bible personality-character-figure who made a simple prayer before the “Good” LORD Jesus Christ.

His name was an expression of a word with a negative bearing-meaning-connotation. His mother named him Jabez saying, “because I bear him with sorrow”.

Supposed a child had been born blind, do you think it would be appropriate-proper-suitable to give the same a/an alias-byname-sobriquet-cognomen-pet name-nickname “the blind”?

If someone who had been born was devastated-ruined-consumed by poliomyelitis, would it be nice to nickname the same as “the crippled”?

If the “Good” Lord Jesus Christ have gifted you with a son who is ladylike in movements and manners-mannerisms-behaviors-tendencies-gestures, don’t you ever call that child “homosexual”. Instead, always assert-declare-profess before his presence that he is masculine and not feminine.

Always tell him that he is a male and not a female. Always encourage-motivate-inspire him to behave as a boy and not as a girl. And leave all the results in the hands of Jesus by entrusting-consigning-committing your child to Him.

The “Good” Lord Jesus will do the rest and He will crown your Godly efforts with success (Proverbs 3:5-6; Psalm 37:4; 62:8)!

What we cannot handle, Jesus will manage best!!!

Naming a child in such a way that you attribute a negative meaning to his/her name can greatly affect his/her personality and character in a negative way.

It is often not good to attribute a negative connotation to a child’s name.

In the case of Jabez, he didn’t allow the negative meaning of his name to be a hurdle (sagabal), an obstruction (hadlang) and a/an impediment-hindrance-barrier from enjoying what is best from the LORD.

In fact, Jabez was more noble-outstanding-advantageous-honorable-excellent-admirable than his brothers!

Reason? Jabez may have been a Godly person, calling upon the God of Israel.

The God of Israel whom Jabez is praying to? The “Good” LORD Jesus Christ (Hebrews 11:24-26; 1 Corinthians 10:1-10; Nehemiah 9:1-38; Colossians 1:16-17; Isaiah 44:24; Hebrews 1:8-10; Exodus 3:2-21; John 8:56-58);

Jabez must have not known the God of Israel by the name “Jesus”, but more likely by the name “Yehoshua” or “Yeshua” (Exodus 15:2) or the “I AM THAT I AM” of Moses and the Israelites or “the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob or Israel” (Exodus 3:14-15).

The 4 simple prayers Jabez prayed to the God of his ancestors- Abraham, Isaac and Israel (Yeshua or “the I AM”):

1. Oh, that You would bless me indeed.

2. Oh, that You would enlarge my coast.

3. Oh, that Your hand might be with me.

4. Oh, that You would keep me from the evil, that it may not grieve me.

Note: Jabez raised 4 simple prayers to “the God of Israel” (Jesus), yet, simple as they are, still, very much valid concerns.

Who does not desire to be blessed/blest? Everyone in his/her right mind would desire blessings from God. Whether that be physical (health), spiritual (God’s presence, favor and approval), emotional (soundness in one’s being), financial (pecuniary-monetary-“pananalapi”), etc. (everything else not mentioned), blessings from Jesus are valid concerns of everyone.

It is not the will of the Lord Jesus for His children to live in poverty (Proverbs 10:22; 2 Corinthians 8:9) nor live in misery (John 10:10; Ecclesiastes 2:26). The “Good” Lord Jesus blesses His people in order to be a blessing to others.

The coast-seashore-shoreline (dalampasigan-baybayin-tabing dagat) is the usual extent-boundary-limit/ation of the flow of sea water or sea waves. In essence, Jabez was saying, “LORD God of Israel, enlarge my limitations, my capabilities. Give me more enablements.”

When Jabez said, “LORD, let Your hand be with me,” he was in effect saying, “LORD, lead-guide-direct me (Psalm 37:23; 23:3B; 16:11; Colossians 2:6).

Lastly, Jabez had to pray, “LORD, protect me always that I may be happy.”

Conclusion? God (the “Good” LORD Jesus Christ) granted the prayers of Jabez!

We must allow Jesus to enter our lives, our houses and our livelihoods.

Zacchaeus knew Jesus (Luke 19:1-10).

In one occasion, Jesus was entering the city of Jericho and lots of people were following Him. There was a certain chief tax collector with the name of Zacchaeus, a wealthy man who was very much interested to seek who Jesus is.

But he was small of stature and the thick crowd gathered together walking with Jesus were preventing Zacchaeus from seeing the Master. Providentially, there was a sycomore tree around the place where the LORD Jesus was about to pass. So, Zacchaeus climbed the same and was able to appreciate getting to see Jesus walk.

Jesus intently stopped before the sycomore tree, asked Zacchaeus to climb down quickly, informing the same that, that very day Jesus will be staying in his house.

The response of Zacchaeus? He went down straightway-anon-immediately-instantly-quickly-speedily and gladly brought Jesus into his house!

What the multitudes murmured about? Why did Jesus made Himself a guest in the house of a sinner?

You see, those days tax collectors or publicans were being called sinful or sinners because they were well known-ill famed-notorious for overtaxing people.

Yet, a great miracle happened-occurred-transpired!

Zacchaeus made a surprising statement!!! Lord Jesus (he had to say), half of my possessions-substance-goods I give to the poor, & if I have received anything from anyone by unjust gain, I will restore the same fourfold.

The response of Jesus? Today, Salvation has entered into this house, since Zacchaeus also is a son of Abraham.

For I (the Son of Man- the Incarnate) am come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Who is Abraham, by the way?

Abraham was a man commanded by the “Good” LORD Jesus Christ to leave his place of residence-habitation-abode to dwell in the place where He would direct him to (Genesis 11:31; 15:7; Nehemiah 9:6-7; Isaiah 44:24; Hebrews 1:10).

Since Abraham obeyed the Lord Jesus Christ’s calling (Romans 8:28), He made him very wealthy-affluent-rich, that he might be a blessing, for in him shall all the families of the earth be blessed. Moreover, those who will bless Abraham, the “Good” Lord Jesus will bless and those who will curse Abraham, the “Good” Lord Jesus will curse (Genesis 12:2-3).

Not only did Jesus promised to bless Abraham, but also his descendants. Since the Israelites were Abraham’s children, they were privileged by the “Good” LORD Jesus Christ to receive the book of the Law (the Pentateuch- Genesis to Deuteronomy). To them were handed down the original set of scriptures to keep and obey.

They were given excellent statutes and commands to live by as they serve their LORD God and Master Yeshua (Exodus 15:2; Job 13:15-16; Psalm 35:3; 62:1-2, 5-6; 118:14, 21; Isaiah 12:2; 33:2).

Yet, being Hebrews-Jews-Israelites (Abraham’s children-offspring-descendants) is useless, if the Yahwehhood or LORDship of the Lord Jesus is being violated-transgressed-disregarded (Matthew 3:8-9; Luke 3:8).

However, even if one is not a physical descendant of Abraham, if that one belongs to Christ (therefore, a Christian), the same is being considered by the “Good” LORD Jesus Christ as a child or descendant (spiritual) of Abraham, & therefore an heir according to the promise of Christ (Galatians 3:29).

Indeed, all the promises of Jesus to Abraham are ours as well, if we are truly Christ’s followers.

Going back to the story of Zacchaeus, after making a declaration before Jesus of what he is about to do, why did Jesus proclaimed that, that very day Salvation has entered Zacchaeus’ house?

Answer: Because that very day, Zacchaeus made and allowed Jesus to enter his life (buhay), his house (bahay) and his livelihood (kabuhayan).

No more cheating-deceptive-deceitful stuffs, all for Jesus’ sake (Colossians 3:23-24).

The name Jesus is an English word, which has an equivalent Tagalog or Filipino word Hesus, an equivalent Greek word Iesous and an equivalent Hebrew word Yeshua, all 4 means Salvation.

Simply stated, where you allow Jesus to enter is where you allow Salvation to enter!

Jesus didn’t tell him how to dispose his possessions, neither to return what he has gained by false accusation, but Zacchaeus voluntarily made the 2 commitments he declared to Jesus.

Zacchaeus must have been a very good accountant (and businessman), for him to repay everyone he had cheated 300 % more.

Wasn’t that an outstanding and phenomenal life transformation (from the inside out)? A sinner turned to saint, all because of Jesus!!!

Oh, how caring and loving Jesus is, for Him to seek and to save that which was lost!

That’s our sweet Lord and Master!!!

(Matthew 1:21; Acts 4:12, 10; Luke 24:47)

Answers: 1. B; 2. B; 3. B; 4. B; 5. B; 6. B; 7. B; 8. B; 9. A; 10. D;

Explanations: Receiving the “Good” Lord Jesus in our lives does not make us perfect, while here on planet earth. Not even the apostle Paul (a truly faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ) was able to claim perfection (teleioo in Greek) for himself (Philippians 3:12-13A). Yet, he is striving for that by pursuing the Lord Jesus as the very mark-target-goal of God’s high calling (Philippians 3:14), thereby no longer minding his past, but seizing the future (Philippians 3:13B). Moreover, we are being commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ to struggle-endeavor-aim-push-aspire for perfection (Matthew 5:48).

Keeping all the commandments of the LORD Jesus strengthens people, makes them inherit what He had promised and makes them live long (Deuteronomy 11:8-9).

The Personal Discipleship Guide of the TAFJ Church- Introduction

Who were tasked to make disciples of all nations by the LORD Jesus Christ?

In Matthew 28:19-20, it is written, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son & of the Holy Ghost. And teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. And lo, I am with you always even unto the end of the world. Amen!”

The “Good” LORD Jesus Christ was the One speaking here. And the people He was addressing were His 11 apostles-delegates-ambassadors-messengers-sent ones (apostolos in Greek). They are otherwise called as the 11 disciples-learners-pupils (mathetes in Greek) of Jesus (Matthew 28:16).

Judas Iscariot- the 12th apostle, have already killed himself, by hanging. And for that, he is in hell right now (Mark 10:19; Luke 18:20; James 2:11).

In the original context of Matthew 28:19-20, just the 11 disciples of Jesus were the ones tasked-charged-designated-appointed by Him to teach-instruct-disciple (matheteuo in Greek) all the citizens or people of the world, thus converting them to become pupils and learners of Christ.

Only the 11 disciples were commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ to carry out-execute-perform-accomplish-fulfill-bring to reality the work of discipling the whole world for Jesus.

Yet, when the disciples or followers of Jesus proliferated much, as accounted for in the book of Acts, they were first called Christians (Christianos in Greek) in Antioch (Acts 11:26).

A “Christian” literally means “little Christ” or “little Anointed”. In case you do not know, you are anointed (painted-covered-smeared with God the Holy Spirit), if you belong to Christ, if you belong to His church (ekklesia in Greek, meaning you have already responded to His call out of sin, and unto or into the Lord Jesus Christ).

Take for instance, the apostle Paul’s address to the church in Corinth, “What, know ye not that your body is the temple (dwelling place) of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have of God, & ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price. Therefore, glorify (honor) God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

The presence of the anointing from Jesus, which is God the Holy Spirit, in the life of a believer or Christian is not based on what you feel or not feel, but in the reality of the assurance of Christ’s presence in your life (Hebrews 13:5-6; Matthew 28:20B; Mark 16:20).

Therefore, if you are a Christian (follower of Christ), you are also a disciple tasked to teach-instruct-disciple the whole world for Jesus.

For the harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few (Matthew 9:37). But if you will work in winning souls for Christ, you are being wise (Proverbs 11:30), for Jesus will favorably recompense-repay-compensate you even while here on earth (Proverbs 11:31; John 10:10; Matthew 6:31-33; Psalm 37:4).

The Lord Jesus’ command to His church- the Christians:

1. Get people saved- Have people converted to Christ or make Christians out of people.

2. Have them made truly His disciples/learners/pupils- How do you make true disciples out of Christian converts?

a. By making them learn-observe-obey-keep all the messages-teachings-commands of Jesus, which He laid down in the Bible (Matthew 11:29; John 14:21, 15).

Coming to Jesus: Truly, anyone can come to Jesus as he/she is, even without any request from anyone, yet Christ expects him/her to conform to His character, & not to remain as he/she is (Matthew 11:28; John 6:37B; 1 Peter 1:15-16).

You don’t get good to get God. You get God to get good (2 Corinthians 5:17). – Quoted

Even searching the Bible is useless, if you are not drawn close to Jesus (John 5:39-40).

It is not only the will of the “Good” Lord Jesus Christ for us to be saved from the fires of Hell and the Lake of Fire, but also to have a meaningful life in Him, that is not carnal but spiritual (Romans 8:1).

The “Good” LORD Jesus knows the thoughts that He is thinking toward us, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give us a Hope (1 Timothy 1:1) or an expected end or a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

A Christian life should be a life in progress, not in regress, deterioration or return to the previous sinful state.

Getting people saved while here on earth is not the end point of the Lord Jesus’ work, but continues further in our life transformation from glory to glory, while Jesus molds-fashions-shapes us into His character as He enables our minds to be renewed gradually, since we no longer conform to the ways of this sinful world.

The humankind or mankind is sinful from birth. In fact, even during conception (when the fertilized egg or zygote is implanted on the womb or uterus), we are already sinful (Psalm 51:5).

Mankind (we) are in need of the “Good” Lord Jesus Christ to be saved from condemnation, by taking Him in His fullness, because we have come to trust or believe in His name (John 1:12), in order to be born again.

Making people disciples or followers of the Lord Jesus Christ flies or starts out from there.

Answers: 1. B; 2. B; 3. B; 4. A; 5. B; 6. A; 7. B; 8. A; 9. B; 10. B;

Explanations: God the Father judges-condemns-punishes no man, but has committed all judgments-accusations-condemnations unto His own (Romans 8:3, 32) beloved Son- Christ Jesus (John 5:22; Romans 8:34).

Christ Jesus alone is our Mediator or High Priest before God the Father.

If the splitting of the thick curtain in 2, there inside the temple at Jerusalem, made the saints or the believers (in Christ) have direct access to God the Father in prayer, then the Mediatorial or High Priestly function of Christ Jesus before God the Father have already been cancelled out-erased-eliminated and nullified.

From the Old Testament times up to the New Testament times, only the human high priest can enter beyond the curtain into the holy of holies (or most holy place) of the LORD’s Tabernacle or Sanctuary or Temple.

If an ordinary priest would enter the holy of holies, he will surely die. The LORD God will kill him on the spot. He won’t be spared at all. That’s the arrangement and set up inside the Sanctuary or Tabernacle or Temple.

When Jesus gave up the ghost on the cross, after crying “it is finished”, the Temple curtain in Jerusalem was parted in 2. What could have the human high priests done, after the curtain in the Temple was torn?

Remember that those days, the human high priests were Annas and Caiaphas. Both of which don’t believe the Lord Jesus Christ at all, even come the time of the apostle Paul’s ministry for the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 23:2-4). They were not His followers-adherents-learners-pupils. Instead, they hate Him a lot. They don’t believe that He is God Incarnate (1 Timothy 3:16; Colossians 2:9; Acts 20:28; John 1:1-2, 14; John 20:28 & 2 John 1:7; John 5:18 & 1 John 4:1-3). They don’t believe that He rose from the dead on the 3rd day, from the crucifixion of His Manhood-Humanity-Flesh-Body-Physical Constitution unto death.

Thus, it is highly likely that after the Temple curtain in Jerusalem was rent in 2, they had it sewed together-stitched-fixed, & continued further with the yearly sacrificial offering of a lamb, sprinkling its blood inside the holy of holies, not realizing that the “Good” Lord Jesus Christ have already “once and for all” shed the precious blood of His sinless Manhood (Hebrews 4:15) unto death to be the fulfillment of the figurative-metaphorical-illustrative-symbolic Lamb of God who has taken away the sins of the world (John 1:36, 29), conditionally (John 3:15). And He is even the only High Priest acceptable before God the Father’s throne.

Then came the destruction of the entire Temple mount by the Romans in 70 AD (about 40 years after Christ’s resurrection), which the Lord Jesus have already prophesied prior to the crucifixion of His Body-Physical Constitution-Flesh (Matthew 24:1-2; Mark 13:1-2; Luke 21:5-6), thus putting an end to the works and functions of the human high priests, contrary to or against their will, since there is no more Temple or Sanctuary to bring sacrificial offerings to.

Involuntarily, the human high priests have to cease from functioning, while the High Priestly function of the G0d Incarnate- Christ Jesus had to begin, no longer to end, since God the Father had made it permanent (Hebrews 3:1; 4:14; 5:5; 6:20; 8:1).

Can you show me a verse in the Bible, where a saint or a believer or a church have prayed to God the Holy Spirit?

God the Holy Spirit can directly talk or transmit information to a believer, but not vice versa or the other way around (Acts 8:29; 10:19-20; 13:2).

Since Jesus means Salvation/Yeshua or Salvation= Jesus alone, you are already saved once you have truly received Him (John 1:12). Nonetheless, you can still forfeit Him if at any time in your earthly life, you will disown Him (1 Corinthians 10:12; Matthew 10:22; 8:11-12).

One who is “in” Jesus, is no longer fleshly or carnal, but rather, spiritual (Romans 8:9, 1).

The Personal Discipleship Guide of the TAFJ Church- Overview

This is a manual for making people disciples-consistent followers-adherents of the LORD Jesus Christ.

This guide booklet had been made in response to the Lord Jesus’ command to make disciples of all nations. Thus, since the scope of discipling is global, we must do all efforts to achieve this end, for Christ.

All the teachings to be learned and contained herein are consistent with all the teachings of the Bible, yet the compiled lessons laid down in this booklet are mere reverberations-echoes-repetitions of certain Bible teachings, chosen and simplified for easy comprehension and facilitated conveyance-impartation-transmission.

The Personal Discipleship Guide or simply PDG discusses 7 Lessons.

Lesson I- Sin and Salvation;

Lesson II- Repentance and Forgiveness;

Lesson III- Lordship and Obedience;

Lesson IV- Bible;

Lesson V- Prayer;

Lesson VI- Feeding and Fellowship;

Lesson VII- Victorious Life in Christ;

***

Lessons I & II– are Evangelism (winning the lost for Jesus Christ) guides.

The center-heart-essence-substance-sum of evangelism:

  1. The sinfulness of the humankind;
  2. Salvation in Christ alone;

The name Jesus simply means Salvation (Yeshua in Hebrew).

If anyone will ask you to define Salvation in one word, the answer is simple: Jesus.

Salvation= Jesus alone.

Hence, once you have truly received Jesus in your life, you are already saved (John 1:12; Matthew 1:21; Acts 4:10, 12).

Lesson III– teaches the principles-rudiments of discipling people under the Lordship of Jesus, making them submissive-subservient-servile to Him (2 Corinthians 10:5; Matthew 4:10; Colossians 3:23-24; Philippians 2:9-11; Acts 10:36; Psalm 119:91).

Lesson IV– is about upholding-yielding to-continuing in the words of Jesus (John 8:31; Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:1-6; Acts 17:11).

Lesson V– is about communing-conversing with Jesus, since an intimate and healthy relationship involves communication.

Lesson VI– involves Christian maturity achieved through interactive efforts among believers and the Lord Jesus Christ.

There must be an intermingling and interaction between and among church members to achieve spiritual nurturing or nourishment, with the help of the Lord Jesus (of course).

When Christians gather in Christ, it is for building up-edifying-encouraging-uplifting-enlightening-informing one another. It is for growth in the grace and the knowledge of our “Good” Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18A).

Lesson VII– is about an overcoming or triumphant Christian life, which will serve as a living epistle or letter read by people, that will create in them a thirst or longing for Christ. This can only be realized “in” and “through” Christ (John 16:33; Romans 8:35-39).

***

After learning these 7 Lessons in the PDG, we can now venture into deeper waters as we proceed into the deep, in order to fish for men (Matthew 4:19; Mark 1:17), with Christ’s enablement (Philippians 4:13; Psalm 31:24).

Explanations: Jesus is the true Vine being taught in the Bible, while the branches are both His adherents-followers-believers and those who are not (therefore, sinners). – John 15:1-6

As the Vine where His followers-adherents-believers-saints ought to remain-abide-dwell-stay (John 15:4), Jesus had to identify Himself as the true Vine (John 15:1).

You see, there is a very good reason why Jesus had to call Himself the true Vine.

According to Jesus, there are 2 kinds of branches of the true Vine (John 15:2). The 1st one are those who don’t bear fruit/s (fruitless, therefore, useless-unprofitable). The 2nd one are those who bear fruits (fruitful, therefore, useful-profitable).

God the Father (the Husbandman-Land Worker-Farmer-Gardener) removes from the true Vine the fruitless branches, while He gets to purge-prune-trim the fruitful ones that these branches may be more fruitful.

Jesus had to say, that if someone does not remain-abide-dwell-stay in Him, that one is cast forth (therefore, thrown on the ground) as a branch, is made to wither to be gathered by men, and to be thrown into the fire for burning (John 15:6). Thus, the fires of Hell & the Lake of Fire are their portion and/or destiny.

Several years back, my dad had a friend owning a vineyard who gave him lots of branches of a grape tree (or a vine), each of the branches about 2/3rd or 3/4th the length of a foot. He had to instruct my dad to have those branches planted, for in due time, those same branches will grow into new vines, producing their own fruits.

It is characteristic of the branches of a vine to live independently by itself (and later turn into vines producing fruits), once severed-removed-cut off from its vine, for as long as it would be planted in a suitable environment, with adequate nourishment.

Jesus intently used the analogy or comparison between the vine and its branches to that of Himself and the people.

If anyone does not remain-abide-dwell-stay in Jesus (the true Vine), that one will the Father remove from Jesus, and will be thrown on the ground as a branch of the Vine, which will not be planted in a suitable environment and nourished, but rather, made to dry, picked up and thrown into the fire to be burned, just to make it sure, that it will not live-survive-thrive by itself, for apart-separate-away from Jesus (the true Vine), we are nothing-useless-vain-empty-void-fruitless-unprofitable-trash-garbage (John 15:4-5).

Do you want to be a counterfeit vine? Jesus won’t allow that! You will be made to wither and dry up. Jesus doesn’t want us to live independently from Him. He alone is the true Vine. We must reside-domicile-home-dwell-abide-remain-stay in Him.

Where should the direct attachment of the branches be? To the true Vine or to the Husbandman? To the LORD Jesus Christ or to God the Father? Will the branches be nourished-nurtured-sustained if you will directly attach them to the Farmer? Will they survive? Have you ever seen a living grape branch directly attached to a Farmer? How about a fruit bearing one?

Jesus alone is the Door (symbolic, of course) of the sheep (John 10:9, 7).

Jesus alone is the Champion-Hero-Warrior God. This account is rendered in English as the Mighty God (Isaiah 9:6). El Gibbor in Hebrew. Thus, when we address Jesus as the Mighty God, we are saying that He is the Champion-Hero-Warrior God, and not as some people think that He is less than being Almighty (Revelation 1:7-8; Exodus 6:2-3).

Jesus alone created all things and He’s also the One who will make the New Heavens & the New Earth (Revelation 21:1-7).

God the Father alone is the permanently invisible God/Godkind to all the createdkinds (John 1:18; 1 John 4:12: 1 Timothy 6:16; John 6:46).

God the Holy Spirit alone is the permanently symbolic God/Godkind to all the createdkinds (Matthew 3:16B; John 7:38-39; Acts 2:2-4; Revelation 1:4C; 4:5).

Jesus alone is the Personally appearing God/Godkind to all the createdkinds (Exodus 3:14-16; John 8:56-59; Genesis 32:24-30; Exodus 6:2-3; Matthew 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Revelation 1:7-8).

Oh, we shall behold Jesus face to face!!!

The God/Godkind before Whom we shall appear to be judged on judgment day is none Other than the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10), since God the Father judges no man, but had committed all judgments unto His own (Romans 8:3, 32) beloved Son (John 5:22).

Answers: 1. C or D; 2. B; 3. B; 4. A; 5. D; 6. A; 7. B; 8. B; 9. B; 10. A;

Explanations: The LORD Jesus Christ is God Incarnate or God in the Flesh (1 Timothy 3:16; Colossians 2:9; John 1:1-2, 14; Acts 20:28; Philippians 2:5-8; John 5:18 & 1 John 4:1-3; John 20:28-29 & 2 John 1:7), and therefore, 100% God & 100% Man.

To be a biological-biophysical-natural parent, you must have contributed a sperm cell or an egg cell in the formation of your baby or child. If you have not contributed any gamete or sex cell, you are not a biological-biophysical-natural parent of the child concerned.

Mary and Joseph are merely foster-replacement-surrogate-substitute-proxy parents of Christ’s Humanity, since the Manhood-Physical Constitution-Body-Flesh Part-Human Form-Humanity of Jesus came from heaven or Paradise (John 3:13, 31; 8:23; 1 Corinthians 15:47; John 6:51, 41-42), and was not derived from the gametes of Mary & Joseph. Instead, His Humanity was merely implanted in Mary’s womb.

Today, surrogacy or foster parenthood is not difficult to understand, especially with the advent-coming-arrival of in vitro fertilization, where a couple’s fertilized egg or zygote (formed in a petri dish in a laboratory), can be implanted in another woman’s womb, for her to deliver after 9 months. In this context or scenario, the woman who will deliver the baby will not be considered the biological-biophysical-natural parent/mother of the baby, but merely a foster or surrogate mother of the same.

No sex cell contribution, no biological-biophysical-natural parenthood to the concerned child!!!

Jesus is the only Hope being taught in the Bible (Jeremiah 17:7; Psalm 31:24; Colossians 1:27; 1 Thessalonians 1:3; 1 Timothy 1:1).

There is only one servant of the Lord Jesus Christ “recorded” in the Bible who delights in His words more than his necessary food, and that is Job (Job 23:12).

Jesus alone is the “Good”, Great & Chief Shepherd (John 10:11, 14; Hebrews 13:20; 1 Peter 5:4). Therefore, as His sheep, our direct attachment should be to Jesus & not to God the Father or to God the Holy Spirit.

In the Vineyard of the Trinity, God the Father is the Husbandman-Land Worker-Farmer-Gardener (John 15:1).
